On 11th November 2021, H.E. Ambassador Yu Dunhai met with Hon. Carmelo Abela, Minister within the Office of the Prime Minister.

Ambassador Yu briefed Minister Abela on China's achievement on socioeconomic development and New Development Philosophy. He appreciated Minister Abela's contribution to China-Malta friendship and the Belt and Road cooperation. He said that China would take the opportunity of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties to create a better future for China-Malta relations.

Minister Abela recalled his visits to China and fond memories of Malta-China friendship. Malta and China enjoy solid political trust, active people-to-people exchanges and great potential on cooperation. Both sides should enhance cooperation on trade, investment, tourism and work together to cope with global challenges such as the pandemic and climate change.
