On 30th April, the Chinese Embassy in Malta and Maltese Olympic Committee jointly held a seminar on the 100-day countdown to Beijing Olympic Games. Together with around 40 distinguished guests from sectors of the Maltese society, H.E. Professor Guido de Marco, President emeritus of Malta graced the occasion with his presence and made a summing-up speech. The Seminar was presided over by Mr. Joseph Cassar, Secretary General of Maltese Olympic Committee, with Ambassador Chai Xi and Judge Lino Farrugia Sacco, President of Maltese Olympic Committee both delivered keynote speeches. All the participants unanimously expressed their support for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, opposed politicizing or disturbing the Olympics in any form and wished Beijing Olympic Games a success.
