On 18 December, AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE GOVERNMENT OF THE PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF CHINA AND THE GOVERNMENT OF MALTA ON MUTUAL VISA EXEMPTION FOR HOLDERS OFDIPLOMATIC AND SERVICE PASSPORTS was signed in Valletta by the Chinese Ambassador to Malta H.E. Mr. Chai Xi and the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malta, Ms. Cecilia Attard Pirotta.

Both sides expressed satisfaction over the smooth and efficient cooperation in the process of preparing and signing of the Agreement and the confidence that the Agreement will further promote friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries through facilitating exchange of visits by their citizens.
