Mr. Li Bengong with the Hon. Helen D'Amato

At the invitation of the Hon. Helen D'Amato, Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry for Health, the Elderly and Community Care, Mr. Li Bengong, the President of China National Committee on Ageing, had a working visit to Malta from 3rd to 6th June 2007. During the stay in Malta, the delegation held a friendly meeting with the Hon. Helen D'Amato about the current ageing situation and trend of China and of Malta, relevant national systems for the care of the elderly and the willingness to strengthen the future cooperation in the field for the well-being of the elderly population. Later, the delegation held a meeting with Prof. Joseph Troisi, Director of the United Nations-International Institute on Ageing (INIA) and visit the Mtarfa Residential Home for the Elderly. H.E. Ambassador Chai Xi attended the meetings and site visit.
