Chinese Ambassador to Malta, Mr. Chai Xi attends the 18th Graduation Ceremony of IMO-International Maritime Law Institute (IMLI)

On 5th May 2007, H.E. Ambassador Chai Xi attended the 18th Graduation Ceremony of IMO-International Maritime Law Institute (IMLI) at the Malta Maritime Museum in Vittoriosa. Mr. Qian Hai, Third Secretary of the Department of Treaty and Law of the Foreign Ministry of China graduated from IMLI this year.

 

On the ceremony, Professor David J. Attard, Director of IMLI and Mr. Efthimios Mitropoulos, Secretary-General, IMO, and Chairman of IMLI Governing Board were gracing the accasion and addressing the audience.

The IMO-International Maritime Law Institute was established in 1988 under the auspices of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) that is a specialized agency of the United Nations. The Motto of IMLI is ''Serving the Rule of International Maritime Law''. Since 1989, there are more than 400 students studied and graduated here that included 7 Chinese Students.
